If everyone who said they were at the Surf Ballroom 50 years ago tonight was actually there, say Clear Lake, Iowa residents, the crowd would have reached 50,000. The famous little ballroom holds about 2,000 people. It’s estimated the actual count was close to 1,500 at the concert.
