Editor's Note: In his birth announcement, the Lubbock Avalanche Journal, Evening Edition mistakenly announced Buddy Holly as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Holley. Following is the actual story that was printed.

From Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Evening Edition
Tuesday, September 8, 1936

A daughter weighing 8 1/2 pounds was born at 6: 10 o'clock Monday afternoon at Clark-Key Clinic to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence 0. Holley of 7913 Sixth Street. * Holley is associated with a tailoring establishment here.
